The West Indies were chosen as hosts for the 2007 Cricket World Cup, with the Queen's Park Oval selected as one of the venues. The 2007 Cricket World Cup saw numerous cricket stadiums throughout the Caribbean get audio updates. Renovation work commenced immediately to prepare the ground for the matches.

The 17,000-seat Queens Park Oval in Trinidad, the oldest Cricket stadium in the Caribbean, received an extensive makeover that covered both aesthetics and infrastructure including a new sound system consisting of 109 Biamp Community R.5HP loudspeakers.
