The First Baptist Church of Marengo was built in 1897, making the building over 125 years. The church seats around 100 people consisting of families throughout the community.
The acoustics of the room were great for the pipe organ, but not ideal for sound reinforcement. The worship space was hoping to improve the intelligibility of the space and diminish any feedback issues.
The Biamp sales team did a demo of the Desono E Series columns earlier this year and confirmed that they would work well in this reverberant space. Two Desono ENT-212 loudspeakers were installed on each side of the sanctuary with Nexia processing to support intelligible voice and superior music.
