Bislett Stadium

Oslo, Norway

Norway’s historic Bislett Stadium was organized as an arena for sporting events in the early 1920s, while its present shape took form just before World War II.

Because Bislett is such a treasured structure in the region for its history and nostalgia, the decision was made to reproduce the new stadium in the shape and form of the original. 21st-century amenities were added and international athletic standards were applied to the new 15,100-seat stadium.

Biamp’s Community loudspeakers were chosen for the main arena and all outdoor areas with the entire system using 64 R.5-94TX’s, 17 R.5SUB’s, 4 R2-694X’s, and 14 R2-94X’s.

"We used Community for its excellent intelligibility and total reliability outdoors in all weather conditions, which can be very severe in Norway. Tightly controlled dispersion was also an important consideration as the stadium is sited very close to residential areas and we had to provide good coverage inside the stadium with minimum spillage outside it. The results we have been able to achieve with this system are excellent."
